Recipient consent (message flow)
We only text people who ask us to. Consent is never bought, sold, shared, or assumed, and it is never a condition of registering for GO DAY.
How end users opt in:
- Web form. The GO DAY registration form at nwyouthgo.com collects a mobile phone number and includes a consent checkbox that is not pre-selected. The user must actively check it.
- Via text. A person may text START, YES, or UNSTOP to our number to begin or resume messages.
- Verbal. At in-person GO DAY meetings, a leader may read the disclosure aloud and record the person's spoken consent along with their number.
- Paper form. Printed GO DAY signup sheets carry the same disclosure and an unchecked consent box.
- Mobile QR code. QR codes on GO DAY posters and slides link to the same web form described above.
What the web opt-in form contains:
- A mobile phone number input field
- A consent checkbox that is not pre-selected
- A clear description of the messages that will be sent
- Message frequency information
- “Message and data rates may apply.”
- “Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help.”
- Links to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
- A clearly labeled submit button
Exact disclosure shown next to the checkbox:
“Yes, text me the GO DAY game plan, reminders, and the giving link from NW YOUTH. Approximately 2–4 messages per month, more during event week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.”
Minors under 18 never receive texts from us. On the student path we collect a parent or guardian's number instead, send them one notification message, and only send further messages after they reply YES, START, or UNSTOP.
Message frequency
Approximately 2 to 4 messages per month, with more messages during the week of the event.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply.
